Peaceful days, deadly nights. Survive as long as you can.
Move WASD, look mouse, sprint Shift (uses stamina), jump Space.
E searches glowing shelf tags and crates, opens doors, and hides you in warehouse lockers. F toggles the flashlight. 1 / 2 / 3 use food, battery, medkit.
Monsters see you in their line of sight and hear running, jumping and searching. Walking is quiet, standing still is quieter, and hiding makes you invisible unless they are right beside you.
A monster catch costs 50 health. At zero, it is over. The green safe room (east side) heals you and monsters cannot enter.
Weapons: left click attacks (hold it to fire automatic weapons) and the mouse wheel cycles your weapons. Keys 4 to 9 pick a slot, and pressing a slot again switches within it: 4 bat or fire axe, 5 pistol or revolver, 6 shotgun, 7 SMG or assault rifle, 8 sniper or crossbow, 9 flare gun or taser. Weapons are scattered through the store and each uses its own ammo. Loud guns draw monsters, while the crossbow and taser are nearly silent. Flares light an area and pull patrolling monsters toward them. Two kinds of shelves: low blue steel loot shelves that you search with E, and big mega shelves with wide gridded platforms. Mega shelves have ladders at both ends. Face a ladder and use W and S to climb, press Space at a platform to step on, or Space between platforms to jump off. Wooden boxes and iron sheets sit on the platforms, and you can build barricades, iron walls and sheets up there to make a base. Monsters cannot climb, but a long fall hurts. Your avatar: you play as a blocky Roblox-style character. In first person you see your blocky arms holding the weapon, and V switches to a third-person camera that shows your whole avatar. Pick a look in Settings. Day and night: days are peaceful, so loot, build and explore. Night falls at 6 PM and the store employees turn hostile and try to beat you with batons. The monsters only come out every 2 to 3 days, and you will be told at dawn when they are coming that night. There is no end: survive as long as you can. Each monster night makes the monsters bigger, tougher, faster and nastier, and new, scarier kinds appear. Dawn sends everything away and restocks the shelves. Moving things: boxes, iron sheets and furniture sit on the mega shelves and across the floor. Press E to pick one up (R rotates, E places it, G drops it). You can stack boxes into stairs, use furniture to wall off an aisle, or lay sheets across gaps. Monsters can break wooden pieces. Day 100: if you somehow reach day 100, the walls fall away and you are trapped in an infinite IKEA (SCP-3008). The staff come for you at night. Building: B places the selected piece in front of you (Q cycles barricade, iron wall, iron sheet and spike trap, R salvages). Barricades cost 2 planks and snap to a grid, so you can wall off an aisle between the big shelves. Monsters will smash them, and brutes do it fastest. Traps cost 3 planks and hurt monsters that walk over them. Planks and iron sheets turn up on shelves and crates. Iron walls are very tough and stand on the floor. Iron sheets are walkable platforms placed at your current height, so you can bridge the gap between shelves. Press the backtick key for the dev panel.
Find a key to unlock the office, where supplies are stored. Expect blackouts, alarms and surprises. It gets worse every hour.
